ASEXUAL VS. SEXUAL REPRODUCTION
ASEXUAL:
Asexual reproduction is when there is a single parent. The advantages of asexual reproduction are speed by which an organism can reproduce and the ability to create many off springs. The disadvantage is there is no genetic variability. |
Sexual:
Sexual reproduction is when two organisms mate together. Each contributes genetic material to the off spring. Advantages of sexual reproduction is genetic diversity and the ability to create mutations. The disadvantage is time and finding a mate. |
MITOSIS VS. MEIOSIS
MITOSIS:
DNA replication while reproducing. Mitosis takes place at the cellular level during asexual reproduction. A cell splits into two and the DNA is replicated. |
MEIOSIS:
The process of cell division that results in four haploid cells. This take place during sexual reproduction. It creates four cells each with one strand of chromosomes from each parent. |
HOW DUMBO OCTOPUS REPRODUCE
The dumbo octopus goes through sexual reproduction. It is important to reproduce because the existents of the species depends on their sexual reproduction outcome. It is natal selection. During sexual reproduction mitosis occurs. When mitosis occurs it ends in two daughter cells allowing the animal to reproduce. It goes through four phases, prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telephase. The dumbo octopus does not had one breeding system. The female octopus lays eggs under small rocks and shells whenever she wants after becoming sexually active with a male octopus. The males uses sperm to fertilize the eggs in the women. The males transports sperm into their arm and then the sperm packet ejacualtes into the female's mantle and fertilizes her eggs.
