The Dumbo Octopus lives in the marine biome. Their ecosystem is at or near the bottom of the ocean floor. Dumbo Octopus tend to stay in solitude until they need to retrieve food or reproduce. Their prey is part of the ocean vent ecosystem. Because they live in the deep ocean their environment is cold and under great pressure. They live on the ocean floor hiding in rocks and crevices. COMMUNITY INTERACTIONS The Dumbo Octopus lives in solitude for the majority of their life. They will leave solitude to hunt for food and mate. The dumbo octopus uses the rocks and crevices of the ocean floor for its home. They eat copepods, isopods, bristle worms, and amphipods which can be found on the ocean floor. They also eat zoo plankton that floats around. Most of their prey comes from the ocean vent. |
