HOW HUMANS BREATHE:
We use our Lungs, Diaphragm, Nasal Cavity, Larynx,Trachea, Bronchi, and Alveoli. These parts of the respiratory system all factor in to follow a formula our body does when we take in O2 and releases CO2. The air that we breathe in, Oxygen flows through our body. and when we breathe out and release carbon Dioxide it flows backwards. CELLULAR RESPIRATION: The metabolic process that takes place in human cells where the body converts energy from nutrients and oxygen into ATP. We use cellular respiration to create energy for our body to function. Breathing allows oxygen to enter our blood stream and carbon dioxide to leave. |
HOW OCTOPI BREATHE:
They breathe using their gills. O2 goes in the mouth and or gills of the octopi. CO2 is released either through the mouth or the gills again as bubbles. The level of Oxygen has to always be less that the level of Oxygen in water and blood. HOW GILLS WORK: Gills provide a surface area for the water to come in contact with the circulatory system of the octopus. The oxygenated water flows in the opposite direction of the blood. |
